IPMBA Police/EMS Cyclist Course

Date: June 9-13, 2014

Time: 0800-1700 hours

Location: Georgetown Fire Station 5, Georgetown TX 78628

Hotel: Comfort Suites and Candlewood Suites

Cost: $200 per person+ IPMBA Membership ($55).  Attendees will be eligible for IPMBA Membership (optional) upon completion of course paid directly to IPMBA.

Prerequisites: Law enforcement officer/public safety personnel; basic bicycle-handling skills; good physical condition.

Required Equipment: Bicycle with Pedal Retention Device & Safety Equipment and Repair Equipment. ( A detailed list of required equipment will be email upon registration.)

Details:  Be prepared for the street! This essential training combines Emergency Vehicle Operations for bike officers with patrol procedures, tactics,  scenarios, and basic bike maintenance and on-the-road repairs.  Off-road riding and bike-specific exercises may be added at the instructor’s discretion. Officers will be given extensive time dedicated to on-bike handling and skills. This is a 40-hour course that will earn the officer TCLEOSE hours.
